Slim Line Poinsettia Joy

Hello Crafty Friends, and welcome back to the LDRS blog!  It's Tracy here sharing a traditional themed holiday card.  I love the Layered Poinsettia dies so much that I had to make another card using reds!  So let's go through the details of today's project!
I began the project by die cutting the Layered Poinsettia a couple of times from watercolor paper.  Once all of the pieces were cut, I pulled out a water brush and pan watercolors.  I saturated the pieces with water and dropped in the color, adding more color to achieve the darker shades.
I set those aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.  For my background, I was super excited to use the new Background Stitched Slimline 1 dies!  I trimmed a panel of white cardstock and taped the stitched dies in place and ran it through the die cut machine.  Look at all of that wonderful detail and texture!

For the sentiment, I die cut joy once from mirror gold cardstock using the Chloe Alpha Lowercase set.  I also cut it a second time from white cardstock and adhered those together using liquid glue for dimension.  Dimension is life!  Since I had the mirror gold cardstock out, I went ahead and cut some of the leaves from the poinsettia set as well.  I felt like adding some gold leaves would tie all of my gold elements together and make for a nice card.
I adhered the white stitched panel to a black cardstock panel for contrast and then adhered the the leaves using glue, while adhering the poinsettias with foam tape.  My sentiment was placed between the poinsettia and glued directly to the panel.  Everything was then added to the card base, along with some gold embellishments.
That finishes up today's project!  I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope it inspires you to get crafty!  I do hope you'll try these layering dies, as they are so much fun to work with, and can really be done in any color for any occasion.  Have a wonderful day!
Tracy
