Let's try mixed media?

Hi everyone!

Here is Fabi and today I want to share how I have used our beautiful dies and stamps to make a mixed media project - a canvas.

If you never tried mixed media I really suggest you give it a chance. Its a fun and very creative way to express yourself through art. What I like most about it is that there's no right or wrong. You play with different products and textures (here our dies really makes difference!) to create a very artsy project.

If you'd like a step by step to make your own canvas, its below ;)

Here a close up:

1st) Start with a plain canvas, any size you'd like. With any mask/template, add some texture with a molding paste or any other medium of your preference that dries with a nice texture.

2nd) Spray any ink/mist onto it. Use 2 or 3 colors. Just after spraying it, before it dries, spray a bit of water and let it run through it.  Dry it with a heat dry.

3rd) On this piece I also used pastel on the edges of my canvas. You pass it and spray water to make it soluble.

You add colors until you are satisfied with it.

4th) When its all dried, you can start adding papers/elements to create your art. On this piece I added butterflies from patterned paper and pieces I cut with our dies. These are the dies I have used:

* Gilded Doily Die

* Gilded Oval Die Set

I added these pieces with a strong glue (you can use any brand).

5th) To add a message to the canvas, choose a sentiment to stamp. I have chosen one from the Postage Sentiments Set.

After I stamped it, I glue it onto a resin frame, which was colored also using spray ink/mist.

The 6th and last step is to add corners and embolus like gems/pearls.

Then its ready to be framed and used as a nice decoration anywhere you want!

Hope you enjoyed this post and try to create your own piece!

Wishing you all a great week,

xoxo

Fabi
