A Safari Selfie?!
Posted on June 16 2018
Hello everyone, Jane here today!
Can you tell how much the DT is in love with the new SAFARI STAMP & DIE SET, it really is too cute!
I have used this collection with the HAPPY DAYS CIRCLE DIE SET for my card today. In fact both these products are available as a super bargain bundle that you can purchase HERE. Too good to miss methinks!
I began by stamping all four of the adorable animals with my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD and coloured with alcohol markers. I then cut them all out with their corresponding dies.
I created a ‘Savannah Sky’ with watercolour brush markers and added some sparkle with a glitter brush pen. The ink that was left on my craft mat was mopped up with a smaller piece of card and this I die cut using the HAPPY DAYS CIRCLE DIE SET , which was also used to cut a frame.
The leaf stamp made a random background and I then added my cute creatures, arranging them to look as if they were taking a group selfie!!
The sentiment was stamped and cut out with the tree die from the SAFARI set and I coloured and die-cut the two grasses to finish my scene.
Thanks so much for joining me I today but don’t forget to be a regular visitor as the DT is always here to inspire you. Hello LDRS Creative fans! Rebecca here with a new card and video using the beautiful and fun to color Daisy Daisy stamp and die set!
I have used light colored dye inks to do no line coloring before, but I was curious to see how it would work with the fabulous LDRS Creative Hybrid Inks....and it works great! Especially if you choose a color to match the majority of your coloring.
I knew all my flowers would be yellow based and even my leaves would have a yellow spring look so I chose Lantern Yellow Hybrid Ink to stamp all of my images. I used the coordinating Daisy Daisy dies and the LDRS Creative Stamping Mask Paper so that my flower and stem would look more natural with the flower in front of the stem.
Lastly, I colored all my images with colored pencils, tracing over all of the stamped lines with yellow and spring green colors so that if any of the stamping showed through, it would still look fine! If you want to see how easy it was to do these techniques and complete this card, just check out this video:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
