Hi there! Jeannie here today to share a simple card using the adorable Kitten Caboodle stamp and die set.
I adore this set since it's a small stamp set but packs a bunch with the dies and the amount of images you get. I focused on using the three smaller images (milk, yarn, fish) to create a subtle background. I decided to use the Little Baby Blue hybrid ink to stamp these three images repeatedly on an A2 card panel. I really like how the ink is so soft. It creates a background that isn't very distracting.
I planned to trim down the background by a quarter of an inch. I wanted it to have a trim around the background but I didn't have cardstock that matched perfectly, so I decided to create my own. I do this pretty often when I don't have colors that match exactly. I just used a blending tool to add ink to the edge of an A2 card panel.
Next, I'm moving on the kitten image that will be my main focus. I really liked the one in the basket. I stamped this image out using Raven hybrid ink, which is my go to black ink! Using the coordinating die, I went ahead and cut out this image. I decided last minute that I wanted to fussy cut this against the border. Of course, you don't have to do this... take advantage of having the die!
I also decided to heat emboss the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I used the Watermark Emboss pad to stamp out the sentiment. I really love this sentiment; it's super cute and I like that it's longer than most.
I realized that the cat seemed a bit lost with the background, so I inked up another piece of white cardstock with the Little Baby Blue ink and used the Happy Days Circle die set so I could have a focal point for the kitten.
The circle with the dotted frame really finishes off the card and provides a place for the kitten. This card is so simple and cute... I just love it! I hope you did too.
Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you next time with another card!
