Pup in a tree
Posted on July 12 2018
Lately, I've been trying to create more mini scenes in my cards, and that's where having a good masking paper comes in extra handy. With it, I was able to mask the bottom part of the cute puppy and make him look like he was right inside the treetop. With a few fun papers and die-cut shapes, I had a lovely card I could send to a puppy-loving friend.
I started by stamping the tree from CandiBean's Puppy Love with the LDRS Creative Hybrid ink in Raven. I used masking paper on the bottom of the foliage and stamped the puppy over it. Since Puppy Love includes matching dies and the puppy fit right inside the treetop, I only needed the tree die-cut (that came with the stamp set!).
I wanted my scene to be a bit more colorful, so I reached for the striped paper from Daisy Daisy and a neutral gingham paper from Cotton Candy along with a piece of textured cardstock from my crafty stash. I trimmed a simple strip with my paper trimmer, then used the circles from Happy Days Circle dies to make a center panel. I adhered everything together and sprinkled a couple of enamel dots for extra interest.
Thank you so much for today and make sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
