A Snowy Garden Gateway!
Hello everyone, its Jane here!
So who has started making their Christmas cards?
Surely there’s no easier way to make a quick card than using some gorgeous patterned paper and some fabulous dies, and that is what I have done today.
I began by cutting my card base using the beautiful large die from the WOODLAND FOLIAGE FRAMES die set (it’s on sale right now so snap it up as quick as you can!). I folded a piece of card to fit the die then, keeping part of the top cutting edge just above the fold, I ran it through my cutting machine twice (well it did have to cut through a double layer) and there I had my card base.
I cut a single layer of black card with the same die and fixed it to the front, slightly offsetting it so that the white would show behind.
I then chose one of the stunning patterns from the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE 6x6 paper pad and cut the section I wanted with the largest die in the PRACTICALLY SQUARE die set. I then used the same die to cut a piece of plain black card and into this shape I cut the inner die from the amazing GARDEN GATEWAY set.
I added an inky, ‘frosty’ edge to my entire card with the SNOWY WHITE hybrid ink and then layered my die cuts with foam pads. I decided to add further interest by fussy cutting elements from the leftovers of my paper, adding to either side and to the birdhouse (can you spot the teeny Red Cardinal?) and then…well here is where I confess to getting a little ‘snow- happy’ with some pearly glue. As a finishing touch I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the HYDRANGEAS STAMP SET in white.
Thank you so much for looking and see you soon!
Take care!
