Apple Blossom Florals
Hi all, Kirstynn here with another fun card to share with you.
Today I'm using a handful of products to create a beautiful floral card that would be great for a wedding. Here is a complete list of the supplies I used to create this card.
To start I used the press plates and black ink to create two of each of the Apple blossom images.
I love using these press plates because the make such a beautiful image every time. And it's a great way to add the impressed detail to an image.
Once I had all of the image outlines, I used the coordinating stencils to color these gorgeous flowers. The stencils were incredibly easy to line up.
I used the lighter pink (Pink Tutu) first then on the second layer stencil I used the darker pink (Lipstick Jungle). When applying the ink, I tried to concentrate the ink toward the center of the flowers and use a lighter hand on the outer edges of the petals.
By doing this, you can really stretch your ink colors and get beautiful dimension in you florals and other stenciled images. I used the same technique with the leaves, using the lighter color (Olive Branch) first and then adding the darker color (Evergreen) on the second layer. Also, concentrating that darker ink toward the stem of the leaf and leaving the outer tip a lighter color.
Once I had all my images colored I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I also used the largest scalloped rectangle in white.
For the sentiment, I used one of the smaller Scalloped Rectangles and a stamp from the Sweet Magnolias stamp set. I really love the elegant font that the sentiments in this set use.
When adding my florals, I tucked the stem in behind the sentiment while layering the leaf on top of it. I like to do this when working with florals as it seems to create a more natural dimension to the elements of the floral image. I used some foam tape to make sure it was adhered well. I then just kept adding in the florals, some directly with glue and some with foam tape, I also cut smaller elements off of the bigger florals and tucked them in aground some of the negative space.
The last step was just to add some sequins and mount this onto an A2 side folding card base.
I hope this card sparks some inspiration for you.
Happy Crafting!
