Autumn in the City

One of my favorite things to do when looking at a stamp set is to figure out a way to stretch the stamp further and use it in a completely different way than it was intended. Fall Full O' Leaves stamp set, for example, makes absolutely gorgeous textured leaves. But inking up and layering the textured leaf stamps helped me create a fabulous grunge background.
I used the Alloy hybrid ink from the Cobblestone mini inkpad collection. For this particular technique, mini inkpads are perfect because I didn't want a perfectly inked stamp. I stamped the leaves in various directions, overlapping them to create even more depth and texture. Once I was satisfied with the background, I used an ink blending tool to ink up the edges of my background panel.
I really loved the industrial grunge look of my background - and I decided to pair it with Winds Are Blowing to create a modern autumn card. I stamped the girl out with Coffee Bean ink from the Cobblestone mini inkpad collection and colored her with my alcohol markers. I was inspired by a local store front that used cool tones for their autumn window display. The rest of the card was kept very simple, adding just a small strip of patterned paper and a few sequins and enamel dots.
Thank you so much for today and make sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
