Be Happy

Hello everyone! It's Ashley today with a card featuring the new Lil' Pink Houses die!

When I first saw this die, I just loved all the little windows and doors on the houses! I decided to highlight those openings by making a dusk scene with lit up houses. I started by doing a bunch of ink blending on white cardstock in sunset and evening colors. I masked off the oranges and pinks, and splattered the top of the background with watered down white paint.

I used the Lil' Pink Houses die on black cardstock, making sure to save all the door pieces. I backed the houses with yellow cardstock for the lights and glued the door pieces that don't open back in place. I wanted less yellow and didn't want all the doors to look wide open. I also used one of the In the Grass dies to create a grassy border for behind the houses.

I grabbed my Puddle Jumper stamp set for the sentiment. I thought the "Be Happy" fit perfectly with this calm evening scene. I used Watermark Ink and white embossing powder to make it pop against the background. I also used a white gel pen to add a few more stars before mounting to a piece of black cardstock.

Look how some of the doors and windows open! It's so much fun!
