Black and White Christmas Scene
Remember those black and white Christmas movies that give you all the good feels!? I wanted to recreate them with the LDRS Creative Christmas on Main Street Stencil Set!
The Christmas on Main Street Stencil is one of my favorite products from the new Fall and Winter release from LDRS Creative! It's a set of two stencils that layer together to create the most amazing layered scene. I have created a few cards with the stencil set in "traditional" shop colors and I had the idea to do a black and white scene! And I only used one ink for the stenciling! I started with the "base" layer of the stencil and blended a light layer of Alloy Hybrid Ink. I wiped off the stencil and placed the second more detailed layer of the Christmas on Main Street Stencil set over my scene and used the same Alloy Hybrid Ink but with a heavier hand to add the second layer of color. So easy!
I stamped some characters from the City Sidewalks Stamp Set with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored them with cool gray alcohol markers. At the time of coloring I thought for sure that my stenciled background was a cool gray, but when I cut out my City Sidewalks characters with the Coordinating City Sidewalks Dies and placed them onto my Christmas on Main Street background I realized the difference in grays! I decided to run with it. I think it helps the characters stand out! I think this card would be fabulous with a pop of color in their coats and boots, too!
I added a pop of color with the sentiment. I stamped a sentiment from the City Sidewalks Stamp Set in Kiss Me Red Hybrid Ink onto the smaller die from the Folded Ribbon Banner Die Set
and added it to the top of my card. That's all! I hope you're inspired to create your own black and white scene card!
