Christmas Deer Shaker Card

Hi all, Kirstynn here, today I'm excited to share a fun Christmas shaker card with you all. I really love making shaker cards, I find them so satisfying when they are complete and all the little shaker bits move around inside whatever window you create.
I used the following products to create this card.
I really wanted to have a little bit of interest and depth in the stamped image by creating an Ombre affect in the colors. To do this, I stamped the greenery that lines up with the deer image and stamped it in Olive Branch ink using my MISTI stamping tool on an A2 card panel.
While my stamp was still aligned, I inked up the stamp in Evergreen ink and used a clean dry cloth to dab away some of the ink on the stamp. I dabbed the areas in the center of the image and also slightly in the center of each of the trees. You want to create a soft blur in the ink by gently pouncing the ink away with your cloth. Avoid using a wiping motion as this may create a harsh line with the ink.
You can see in the above image that A lot of the ink has been removed. I did repeat this process twice to get the variance in the color exactly how I wanted it. And I repeated the process with the Deer, making sure to stamp the lighter color first and then stamping the darker color after I removed some of the ink. When doing this with the deer, I wanted the antlers to be the lighter color, so I made sure to clean the darker ink off of the antlers. I also removed some of the darker ink from the center deer.
You can see the color fade in the photo below.
I did the same process with the stars stamping the lighter colored ink first, then the darker on top.
At this point it was time to create the shaker card. I cut a circle in another A2 card panel and attached acetate and foam tape to the back. I then added in some white and iridescent sequins to the window. This would also be great with snowflake sequins.

If you struggle to get the front panel aligned with the stamped panel, you can tuck the stamped panel into the corner of your MISTI and then repeating the process with the adhesive panel. By aligning both of the corners into your MISTY it should allow the rest of the panel to just fall into place.
I then used the Good Cheer Sentiment stamps to stamp a sentiment down on the front of my panel using the Evergreen ink.
I really loved the whimsical look of the stars in the inlay stamp image so I wanted to add some stars on the outside panel as well. I used the additional star pieces in the set to stamp some stars around the sentiment and around the shaker window.
I loved the tiny little stars that were part of the tree inlay image so I inked just the small stars that I wanted to use.
I then just stamped these around some of the other star clusters. These little tiny stars really just added that whimsical Christmas magic to this card.
I hope you all love this card as much as I loved creating it. This stamp set has quickly become one of my favorites for Christmas as it's so simple to use and creates such beautiful detailed images.
Happy Crafting!
