Christmas in July: Festive Fun with Postage Collage Die and Mask Stencil
Hi there, Sam here on the blog. Happy Independence Day to my friends south of the border. 'Tis the season to start some early Christmas prep!. Yes, it's time for another post featuring my favourite crafty tools: Postage Collage Die and Postage Collage Mask Stencil. but this time with a seasonal spin on it. This time, I've added a seasonal twist. I dug through my stash for Christmas stamps that fit within the frames of the postage collage and found a lovely inlay style stamp set – Cozy Days Inlay stamp.
If you wish to recreate the card I made, you will need the following products, otherwise dig through your stash to see what small Christmas themed stamps you can find. Products used: Postage Collage Mask Stencil, Postage Collage Die, Cozy Days Inlay Stamp and Christmas Postage Collage Stamp.
Get the look:
- Die cut out the Postage Collage Die.
- Pick out what colours of ink you would like to use from the huge collection of LDRS Hybrid Inks.
- Align the Postage Collage Mask Stencil over the postage collage frame and attach with low tack tape or place on a sticky mat.
- Pick out the stamps that you like from Cozy Days Inlay Stamp and Christmas Postage Collage Stamp.
- A stamp positioner is useful to have because you can stamp lots of stamps at once. Although it can be done without; will just take little longer to stamp, stamps individually.
- With collage mask still in place, layout and stamp the festive stamps onto the panels. Because of mask thickness you may need to give an extra push near the mask edges.
- Make sure to wipe the excess ink off the collage mask. in-between different colour stamping.
- To get a 2-tone effect use a brush to selectively apply a 2nd tone of ink to stamp and stamp.
- Give time for the ink to dry before stamping and heat embossing the gold stars.
- Assemble Card: Adhere postage collage to complimenting colour A2 cardbase.
