Comfort & Joy

Hello everyone! It's Ashley today with a sparkly, snowy card that's perfect for the upcoming season!

I started by ink blending a jewel toned background reminiscent of the Northern Lights. To really get a galaxy feel, I did several layers of water splattering and a bit of white acrylic paint as well. I cut some glitter white cardstock using the Over the Hills die to make the snowy, hilly background for the sweet houses I had planned.

The houses took a few layers of cardstock, but I think the effect is worth it. I started with a very light blue cardstock and cut it with the Lil' Pink Houses die. I added it to my card with strong adhesive, being very careful to keep all the pieces together. This was my "base" piece for putting together the houses. I used the die again on white glittery cardstock and cut the houses off, leaving just a sparkly hill for my card. I then cut the houses again out of light gray cardstock and cut them away from the hill with my scissors. This time, I punched out the windows and doors so the blue would show through. I just love how some of the doors on this die have score lines instead of cut lines! This way the doors can open and close! So cool!

I tried using a snow pen on the roofs, and while I liked the puffy white, I thought it needed some sparkle so I added some glitter glue on top! I finished with a sentiment I made from combining two sets - No Matter the Weather and Cardinal Seasons. I stamped them using the Watermark ink pad and embossed with white embossing powder.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
