Creating a Scene
Hi friends. It's Alanna here and I'm so excited to share my card with you today featuring the super fun and cute Holly - Spring Chicken from the Polkadoodles lineup of stamps.
She sure is a cutie pie sitting with the flowerbox full of colorful flowers in a field of grass. And since this image is a good size, it's perfect for practicing your coloring on.
I started by stamping this sweet image onto a piece of white card stock using the Raven Hybrid ink from LDRS Creative. This is such a nice ink for many types of coloring, given it's hybrid nature.
I decided to stamp my sentiment which is from the Beautiful Blooms set before I started coloring so that if I didn't get it stamped correctly the first time, I could just re-stamp my image rather than risk possibly ruining my card panel.
Here's a closeup of cute little Holly. I colored her using my alcohol markers. Once the actual image was colored in, I added in the grass detail. I took 3 shades of green markers and made small flick strokes. I then took my lightest shade and colored all over the flicks I had just done to blend it out just a bit.
Once this was done, I decided that my sky needed a bit of something. So I took a blue alcohol marker with the broad chisel nib and just lightly added some strokes across the page. I didn't want the entire white portion covered. Some imperfections in the strokes and where I added the ink helps give the feel that there are some clouds in the sky.
And here is a final look at my card. I hope you've been inspired to pull out some of your Polkadoodles images and have fun coloring and creating a scene.
