Easy Rainbow Wall Flower Impress-ion Plate Card
Hi guys, Jen here! This month I decided to create a rainbow card using the faboulous hybrid inks from LDRS.
Some of you might feel that you can't recreate this as you only have a few ink colours but don't worry, I'm here to share a simple hack to solve this for you. Did you know that you can create the perfect rainbow with just 3 ink colours? It's true, read on the see how I made mine!
Products used
I began by pulling 3 ink colours from my supplies in,
Then trimmed down a scrap of smooth white cardstock into a strip which measured approx 5 1/2 by 2 inches. I took an ink blending tool and starting from the middle ink blended the yellow ink making sure to cover the middle 1/3 of the cardstock strip. Once I was happy with the coverage, I used another blending tool to apply the pink ink to the left hand side, overlapping it with some of the yellow ink and blended the blue ink on the right hand side, again overlapping it with the yellow ink. These inks blend beautifully and when you overlap them like this they create new colours. The pink and yellow create orange and the yellow and blue combine to make the perfect shade of green, giving a whole rainbow of colours! Pretty cool right!
After I'd finished creating the prettiest rainbow, I set the ink blended panel aside to dry and worked on the rest of the card.
with Alloy – LDRS Creative hybrid ink, ran it thorough my diecut machine and trimmed it to 5 1/4 by 4 inches. Then took the older (and unfortunately retired) Zig Zag Slimline Backgrounds Strips Die and created a cut out section from the background panel.
By this time, my ink blended panel was dry and ready for me to add a sentiment. So I heat embossed the "Enjoy" sentiement from the Morning Brew Collage 4x6 Stamps – LDRS Creative stamp set in white. I took another piece from scrap white cardstock and adhered the ink blended strip to the bottom half, popped up the background panels with foam tape to the top and bottom and added it to a soft grey card base. For some additional interest and shine I added a few silver pearls to finish of this card.
The LDRS inks smooth out so well to leave you with the most dreamy ink blending! I really think the subtle grey background panel and card base in this card complements the softness of the ink blending, without over powering it!
So there you have you really don't need a ton of ink colours to create a beautiful ink blended rainbow!
Catch you all again next month!
