Easy Shaped Card
Hi all, Kirstynn here,
Today I'm sharing with you how easy it is to make a shaped card with any large die. I'm using the following supplies today:
To start I used both of the press plates from the You Are My Anchor set. and centered them on my better press plates and ran them through using an A2 piece of cardstock.
Once I had my image on a white A2 panel, I used the second largest die from the Mixed Postage Rectangle Dies to cut out the images. I then cut out two of the largest die from the same set in a dark Navy cardstock.
At this point I used some foam tape to adhere the white panel to one of the navy panels. I then scored the second navy panel 1/2 inch from the edge as shown below.
To adhere these, you will want to use a strong adhesive. I'm using score tape and adding it above the score line. You will then line up the scored piece to the front piece and adhere it with whatever adhesive you are using. By doing this, you will create a A2 folding card that is in the shape of the large postage die.
I then used a light gray water based marker to add some light coloring to the anchor. And I used a dark navy water based marker to add some color to the rope. I thought about adding some sequins, but I decided that I really liked the flat clean look of this card. This also allows the shape to really be the focal point.
I hope this inspires you to create some shaped cards. You can use any dies you may have with this technique to make many different shapes and sizes.
Happy Crafting.
