Friend in the Neighborhood
Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today using two of the sets from LDRS Creative’s latest release. I hope you’ve been enjoying all the new items and get inspired to create.
When I first saw the On the Move - Neighborhood set, I thought it was such a fabulous set that could be used for so many things, especially because it includes a die for the landscape that you can use in conjunction with the On the Move - Swivel Slide Tab Master. Today I decided to start off sharing a simple card, which only uses the stamps in the set.
First, I stamped out the grassy part from the On the Move - Neighborhood set and realized that because of the tufts of grass, I wanted to mask that it off so I could stamp the road right above it. I used the LDRS Masking Paper to do so. Then I stamped the road and then the houses right above. It's so simple because everything lines up so nicely.
Because the road isn't long enough to cover the card panel horizontally, I just drew in a continual road. Also, I decided to mask off the entire neighborhood so I could use inks for the background and the grassy area. I've been in a rainbow mood so I went with it for the background. I also thought leaving the houses white would really stand out against that background.
For the sentiment, I pulled out another set that worked so well with this stamp set, If Friends Were Flowers. This set has so many different little sentiments and a large "friend". I picked two smaller sentiments "Thinking of You" and "I Wish You Lived Closer". I thought it went well with the On the Move - Neighborhood set
I really love how this turned out. I trimmed down the card panel just a quarter of an inch horizontally so I could pull in the black cardstock from the sentiment. It's such a bright and fun card so I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for stopping by! Come back again soon for some more inspiration and ideas!
