Guest Designer Tiffany-You Are Amazing!

Hi friends! Tiffany here, back with another guest design. I hope you all are in the holly, jolly spirit! As a break from holiday cards, I decided to make an encouragement card for a friend. I am featuring the LDRS Dahlia stamp set and coordinating dies.

To start, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock down to 3.75 x 5 inches. On the panel, I stamped the x pattern stamp several times around the panel. I used my MISTI to ensure the stamp was straight vertically and horizontally. I love that this set includes a pattern stamp. It speaks to my inner mixed media artist.

Next, I worked on the focal, floral image. I stamped the image in gray pigment ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Watercoloring a heat embossed image is my favorite way to watercolor. I used dye ink in my stash to watercolor the dahlia. I used multiple shades of a pink/orange color and a deeper orange color. For the leaves and stems, I used two shades of green dye ink. After I finished watercoloring, I splattered the image and the white panel with the same color inks, diluted, white acrylic paint, and clean water. After the flower was dry, I die cut it using the coordinating die. I also die cut another flower from white cardstock and ink blended it. I layered it behind the watercolored flower. I popped the flower up with foam tape and adhered it to the card front.

Lastly, I worked on the sentiment. I stamped ‘amazing’ in dark orange ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. I splattered the sentiment with water and diluted ink. I silver heat embossed ‘you are’ on a piece of cardstock that I ink blended with the same green ink I used on the leaves and adhered it to the card front at an angle. Finally, I added a few silver jewels for a little sparkle.
I hope this sparked your creativity. Thanks for reading and happy holidays!!
