Hello Spring!

Hi everyone, It's Jen here and I'm back with another tutorial for LDRS Creative.
I have to say that I love spring, it's my favourite season of them all.  I was so inpsired by the LDRS Creative Feburary release that I wanted to create 2 clean and simple spring cards using the One Fine Day 6x6 Paper Pack – LDRS Creative
There is a variety of beautiful designs in this collection including some gorgeous florals and gold foil patterns. However it was the rainbow patterned papers that inspired me the most. Afterall, who doesn't love rainbows right?

To create these cards I started with a top folding US A2 landscape card base measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I used 2 different rainbow patterned papers from the One Fine Day 6x6 Paper Pack – LDRS Creative and trimmed them down to the same dimensions as the card bases. I used these as decorative borders to frame my card design and adhered them to the card bases with liquid glue . Then I took a some heavy weight white card, used a paper trimmer to cut it to 4 x 5.25 inches and die cut it with one of the dies from Background Stitched Slimline Dies II – LDRS Creative. This created subtle backgrounds that I matted onto the patterned card bases. Next I cut a one inch strip from the same patterned papers and adhered them to the top third of the cards.
I used some silver mirror peel offs to add some contast between the patterned paper and the die cut backgrounds.
I also cut pennant shapes using a craft knife and a ruler, popped them up on some foam tape and added them to the upper right hand side of the cards, over the patterned paper strips. I picked 2 of the adorable bunny rabbits from the One Fine Day Ephemera Pieces – LDRS Creative  and added them to the pennants with thin foam tape for some additional depth.
The sentitment was taken from the Joyful Blooms 4x6 Stamps – LDRS Creative and stamped in black hybrid ink Raven – LDRS Creative  Joyful onto white cardstock. Then die cut using the Joyful Blooms Coordinating Dies – LDRS Creative (shopifypreview.com) and added to the card fronts again with some foam dimension.
I could have left it there but decided to add a little bit if bling with some silver pearl embelishments, which ties in with the silver peel offs and completes this clean and simple look.
Here is a closer look at both cards.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I look forward  to catching you all again next month!
