If Friends Were Flowers
Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today to share a card I created using LDRS Creative’s stamp set named, If Friends Were Flowers. I adore floral sets and this one is no exception. I especially love the sets that have both single floral images as well as bunches of florals together.
For today's card, I decided to create a background using alcohol inks. To be honest, this card panel actually went into the trash can and I went back to pull it out. There were parts of the card panel that I didn't necessarily love, but since the floral bunches were large, it helped cover up parts I didn't like.
I used Watermark ink to stamp the floral image on vellum and heat embossed it. I love the look of these vellum flowers over the alcohol ink background. Because of bright and colorful background, I really need the sentiment to stand out somehow. In the If Friends Were Flowers set, it includes a large Friend sentiment along with a shadow. This was perfect to help it pop. I used a piece of dark blue cardstock as the shadow and cut the sentiment in white. For the smaller sentiment, I again used the Watermark ink to stamp it and heat embossed on the same dark blue cardstock.
I’m loving how elegant this card has turned out and it's pretty simple to create.
Thanks for stopping by! Come back soon!
