Lemonade or watermelon?!
Happy Summer everyone! It's Jeannie here today on the LDRS blog to share two super simple cards using the newly released Lemonade stamp set. I really love summertime and the fact days are just longer, sunnier, and happier!
Sometimes, I really love how a simple card turns out... so much so I made two of them to share today. For both of my cards, I masked off half the card and used distress inks to color up the card so it'd resemble a watermelon.
My first card is super simple: I literally masked off the card horizontally, added the ink, stamped the sentiment and watermelon, and colored in the watermelon. That was the card! SO easy, right?
For my second card, I added a little more to it. I masked off the card vertically for this one and inked it up the same. I used LDRS Watermark ink so I could do heat embossing on black cardstock. I wanted the "You're one in a melon" sentiment to be a strip across the bottom of the card.
Next, I decided that I wanted to stamp out a bunch of watermelons. I use the LDRS Raven Hybrid ink for this since the seeds of the watermelon are solid, so I want a good impression for each image. After doing so, I'll fussy cut all these images and it's ready to assemble.
I lined up the watermelon horizontally and added the sentiment strip. Such a simple card but it really packs a nice (fruity) punch!
I hope your summer is going well so far, and I hope this inspires you to make some simple cards.
See you next time on the blog!
