Love that Dress
Hello everyone! My name is Jeannie and I’m super excited that today is my first design team post for LDRS Creative.
For today’s card, I wanted to do a really simple card to focus on the main girl image from Love That Dress. She’s so glamorous and I literally do love that dress! I stamped her out using Raven ink, which works with both alcohol markers and watercolors. I colored her dress using pink so it would pop. For the background, I used watercolors to quickly color up a slight blue ombre and a black strip along the bottom to depict the ground.
Originally, I didn’t plan on doing anything more than adhering the girl directly on that background but after looking at it, it seemed incredibly plain.
To fix this, I pulled out the Lamp Post and Railings dies to help create a silhouette background for this card. Unintentionally, the black ground worked perfectly to tie this together. I die cut the lamp post and two railings from black cardstock. The best part of this die is that you can use it to build a continuous railing. You can't even tell it's two die cuts! I adhered these to the background and then I added the main girl to the front panel.
I added some gold metallic splatter on the blue background for a little bit of interest.
I really like how this card turned out so I hope you enjoyed this card as well and I can’t wait to share more projects with you.
