Maritime postal card

Hello everyone ! Lounon here !

Today, I’m sharing a maritime-style postcard I created using various products from the brand-new Beach Days collection.

Products used:

- Beach Days Postage Collage 4x6 Stamps

Lighthouse Stamps and coordinate dies

-Pinpoint Rectangles Dies

First, I die-cut a 4" × 5 1/4" (10.2 cm × 13.3 cm) rectangle using the largest die from the Pinpoint Rectangles set.

Next, I used a ruler and a black fineliner to draw a small vertical line down the center of the rectangle.

I then stamped the lighthouse image twice : once on the left side of the card and once onto masking paper. I used the coordinate dies to cut the version on the masking paper.

I masked my images.

After that, I stamped two of the postal stamp designs from the Beach Days Postage Collage Stamps set using black and red inks. I masked these as well with small circle and rectangle shapes cut from masking paper.

For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Lighthouse Stamps set and stamped it in blue ink on the bottom right corner (where the address would usually go on a postcard). I then drew three horizontal lines with my fineliner under each word.

Tip: stamp your sentiment first, then draw the lines. It's much easier than trying to line it all up afterward.

Next, I inked the edges of the postcard with brown water-reactive ink and I splattered some of it with water and a brush.

Finally, I removed the masks and colored the images with my markers. You may have small white gaps around your stamped images, you can fill these in using a marker that matches your brown ink to blend everything nicely. I voluntarily added more brown ink around the postal stamp to add depth.

Little tip if you don’t have masking paper:
You can use regular copy paper with a bit of repositionable tape. It’s a bit trickier, but it gets the job done!

Or, you can skip masking altogether. In that case, make sure to color your images before adding the brown ink. That way, your markers won’t go over the ink, which can affect blending and isn’t great for the nibs.

Et voilà!

May the craft be with you !
