Hey, everyone and happy Halloween! I'm using an oldie but goodie technique to create an ink blended and masked ghost filled card with the LDRS Creative Halloween High Jinks stamp set!
This card is so easy to make and you can use the die cutting and masking technique with any stamp and coordinating die set in your stash! I used the two small ghosts in the Halloween High Jinks stamp set and stamped them all over the front of a piece of cardstock with LDRS Creative Raven Hybrid Ink. Once I had the arrangement that I wanted I used the coordinating Halloween High Jinks die set to die cut masks for each of my little ghosts. But here's a trick! Because there are so many ghosts to mask off layer up your masking paper before die cutting! I used four layers of masking paper so that each time I die cut the ghost I actually had four ghost masks. This made the process so much faster!
Next I did a bit of ink blending. I used Grape Ape at the bottom and blended that into Plum Crazy and Bali Blue at the top. I love this combo for a not so spooky Halloween night sky! I left the masks in place and flicked on some white and glittery watercolors over my background. Now the fun part! I removed each of the masks and saw the bright and happy ghosts underneath! And because I used the coordinating dies to mask off the stamped ghosts I'm left with a white border around each image that helps them stand out from the background! If you don't like this look you can stamp and fussy cut masks, but I find it's much easier to use the coordinating die and I like the look of the border!
