Mixing Old and New Stamp Sets to Create a Neighborhood Scene
I love that LDRS Creative is so thoughtful when designing their products! You can mix and match stamps, dies, and stencils from various releases and get just the card you're looking for! I'm using a couple of older scene building stamp sets with the new A Day in the Park Stamp Set from the Summer 2020 Collection!
I paired the new A Day in the Park Stamp Set with a few older scene building stamp sets - On the Move Landscape and On the Move Neighborhood. I think they look perfect together! I stamped the little houses, road, and grassy hill from the On the Move Neighborhood Stamp Set as well as the puffy clouds from the On the Move Landscape Stamp Set with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored the images with alcohol markers. I also stamped the little girl riding the bike from the A Day in the Park Stamp Set. Once they were colored I used the coordinating A Day in the Park Die Set to cut out the girl and used my scissors to quickly trim out the additional scene pieces.
I started assembling my simple scene using the colored images using a LOT of foam tape! I think I had four layers of foam total by the time this card was done! With simple cards like this I think it's important to have something to "step up" the card - my go to's are foam tape and glitter!! So of course I added lots of clear glitter on my images after they were adhered to the card!
I used Raven Hybrid Ink to stamp a cute little sentiment from the A Day in the Park Stamp Set and cut it out with a decorative die from the Practically Oval Frames Die Set. Originally I had built my scene on a white background - but it was a bit too "clinical" for me, so I blended some Bali Blue Hybrid Ink around the outside edge of the card. This mimics a blue sky and really brightened up the card. Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to mix your new LDRS Creative products with products you already have in your stash!
