Ombre Magic with Stencils and Over stamping
I’m excited to share a project that uses a creative technique where stencils build beautiful blue background tones for florals. Then, the floral outline is stamped in a slightly darker shade and offset from the background color to create a loose, playful feel.

If you’d like to recreate this card, you’ll need:

Get the look:
-
Stencil the Background
Overlay the Bouquet Maker stencil onto an A2 piece of cardstock, positioning the florals where you want them to appear.
(Tip: The mask set includes a super handy visual guide that shows which stencil matches each floral stamp.) -
Blend the Ombre Blues
Using an ink blending brush, blend a variety of blue LDRS ink over the floral stencils until you’re happy with the layout and floral coverage. -
Add the Offset Stamping
Next, position the floral stamp slightly offset over the blended florals and stamp in a darker color for a loose, playful look.
Colors I used: Swimming Hole, Bali Blue, Marina Madness, and Dark Wash. -
Fill in the Leaves
Using a green ink (I used Prickly Pear Perfection), stamp the leaves from the set to fill in the gaps between the florals. -
Create the Sentiment & Frame
Die-cut a sentiment from the Simply Words dies using coordinating cardstock.
Then, using the same cardstock, align two different sizes of the Star Octagon Frame Dies to cut a frame. Overlay this frame on your floral background. -
Assemble the Card
Attach both the frame and sentiment to your card base—and you’re done!

This card would be perfect in all colours — imagine it in soft pinks, vibrant corals, or even sunny yellows for a completely different vibe! The possibilities are endless.
