Perfect Petal Embossing
Hello all, Kirstynn here, sharing another card with you.
Today I'm sharing a simple but fun card that I put together using a bright pink cardstock. Of course you can use whatever colors you are drawn to.
I've been really loving all the shades of pink lately so I went with a bold pink. Let's get started.
For supplies, I used the following
The first thing I did was cut out a panel using the largest scalloped rectangle die. You want to make sure you cut this out first, before you use an embossing folder. Using an embossing folder fist, and then cutting it out with the die second, may flatten the panel when you die cut.
Once I had my panel, I aligned it in the perfect petals embossing folder and ran it through my die cut machine. This embossing folder creates the most beautiful detailed 3D florals in the paper. It's such a great background and one I know I'm going to reach for often.
Once I had my cut out and embossed panel, I wanted to make those floral details really stand out. To do this, I used the Snowy White hybrid ink and a brayer and rolled the white ink over the top of my panel. This will allow the raised details to have a white highlight as shown below.
I added a few layers of white to make sure that it really stood out the way I wanted it to. You may need to heat set this between the layers, but I didn't have any problems with the hybrid ink.
Once I had my background panel done, It was time for the sentiment. I cut the "Happy" letters out from some silver cardstock and the background shadow with white. I stacked 4 white shadow cuts to create some dimension on the sentiment. Then stamped the "to have you in my life" in a dark gray and cut that strip out using my paper trimmer. I glued all of this onto my panel and added some silver sequins.
I adhered the panel to a white side folding A2 notecard.
I hope you love this card as much as I do. The texture in this embossing folder is so stunning and makes for a quick and gorgeous background to any card.
Thank you all for joining me!
Happy Crafting!
