School of Fish Stencil 2 Ways

Today I'm using my favorite stencil from the Summer 2020 Release from LDRS Creative - the School of Fish Stencil! I love how these little fishies are swimming in a swirl! And it's so versatile! I'm using it to create two styles of cards - bright and happy and classy with a touch of contrast!
I made both cards almost the same way - I just switched up the ink colors and the images on top. They came together so quickly!
Let's start with this pretty rainbow School of Fish stenciled background! I adhered the School of Fish Stencil to a piece of white cardstock and went crazy blending a rainbow of Hybrid Inks over the stencil! I used Tickled Pink, Tangerine Dreams, Banana Cream Pie, Prickly Pear Perfection, Marina Madness, Parisian Purple, and ended with a bit more Tickled Pink at the tail end of the School of Fish Stencil.
I stamped a mermaid from the Mermaid Treasures Stamp Set with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored her with alcohol markers. You can color these mermaids any way you want - but I've been reaching for my alcohol markers lately! Once she was all colored I cut her out with the coordinating Mermaid Treasures Die Set.
I added my image from the Mermaid Treasures Stamp Set to the center of the School of Fish stenciled background with foam tape and added a stamped sentiment with Raven Hybrid Ink. That's it for card number one!
Let's move on to the second card! You may notice something different about this one - I flipped the stencil! I love that the School of Fish Stencil is so versatile - you can blend ink through either side of the stencil and even flip the stencil upside down! Really there are four ways you can switch up the orientation of the stencil! Talk about getting the most out of your stencil! This time I decided to go for a bolder look and I stenciled Raven Hybrid Ink through the School of Fish Stencil. I love the crisp black look! And here's a quick tip! The Extreme Clean Stamp Cleaner isn't just for stamps! I use it to get my stencils squeaky clean, too!
I wanted to add something simple to the front of the card - something that would go with the bold stenciled background but not take away from it. I found the PERFECT sentiment in the Explore and Discover Stamp Set! It's a match made in Heaven! I stamped the sentiment banner three times with three different colors of ink - Boysenberry Blast, Tropical Sea, and Parisian Purple and trimmed out the banners with scissors.
All that's left to do is add the banner sentiments to the center of the card with foam tape. This card is even quicker than the first! You could make a bunch and just switch up the sentiment colors!
I hope these cards give you some fun ideas how to use the School of Fish Stencil! And don't be afraid to flip and rotate your stencils! You can often get different looks! Head over the the LDRS Creative store to find the products I used today and the rest of the summer 2020 release!
