I began by stamping the "In The Garden" stamp set in Alloy hybrid ink onto a US A2 panel of LDRS Watercolor paper. Then I ink blended the large flowers with a combination of Bali Blue and Little boy blue ink to give a gradient effect. The flower centres and the smaller flowers were ink blended with Banana Cream Pie & Dan-D-Lion ink. For the leaves, I blended some in Four Leaf ink and the others in Prickly Pear Perfection ink using a heavier concentration at the base of each leaf then fading it out. I used some gold shimmer spray from my stash to splatter the background and set it aside to dry. Once dry, I trimmed the panel to 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

Next I began to work on the sentiment. I cut the Floating Circle Frame & Hugs sentiment die from white cardstock 3 times and another time from mirror gold cardstock. The diecuts were stacked together giving them extra heft whilst adding dimension.

Before adding the frame and sentiment to the panel I trimmed a piece of vellum and glued it behind the frame. This allows the sentiment to standout more, whilst not covering too much of the background. I offset the frame to the bottom right and cut off the excess that was overhanging with a sharp pair of scissors.

I used foam tape to adhere the card panel onto an A2 card base made from some light grey cardstock. Finally, I finished off my card by adding some gold flat sequins.

I think the soft ink blending turned out quite pretty, I hope you give this technique a try too.

Catch you all again next month!
