Stop and Smell the Roses

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today to share a card I created using LDRS Creative's Love and Smell the Roses stamp set.
I've really enjoyed the new sets that have been released last month and this is one of them because it's a large set, with coordinating dies and tons of sentiments.
I've been playing with watercolors lately and decided to use this medium for my card today. I used Raven ink to stamp these out since they work with watercolors and don't smear. Normally, I'd mask these flowers to create a bunch but because I'm pretty new to watercolors, I wanted to color these images one at a time. Since this set comes with dies, this worked perfectly. Once they were colored, I compiled them into a bunch to place at the bottom right of my card. I did use foam tape for the middle flower to give it a bit of dimension
For background, I just added a light wash of color on a piece of watercolor paper. I also pop it up on foam tape so I was able to give it a bit of dimension.
I wanted to use one of the many sentiments in the set. I chose to stamp the smaller sentiment on black cardstock using the Watermark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I also die cut the letters in white and the shadow in black so it matched the smaller sentiments. This worked really well to help "love" pop on the card.
To finish it off, I added a few gems to the card to fill up the empty space and my card is done. Lately, I've been keeping most of my cards super simple and I'm really enjoying it! What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll inspired to create. Come back soon!
