Stretching the Birthday Puzzle Scene Stamp with Nested Postage Collage Dies!

Hi there, Sam on the blog with a fun twist on the Birthday Puzzle Scene. The main Puzzle Frame stamp has many complimentary puzzle scene stamp sets. However, the puzzle scene stamps can be used for so much more than only with the puzzle frame stamp. So, I set out to come up with a fun way to stretch the Birthday Puzzle Scene Stamp and combine it with the recently introduce Nested Postage Collage Dies.

If you would like to reproduce this card you will need: Nested Postage Collage Dies, LDRS Hybrid Inks, Birthday Puzzle Scenes Stamp and Christmas Puzzle Masking Stencil

Get the Look:

  • Die cut out the postage frames from Nested Postage Collage Dies out of white card stock.

  • Pick out 5 images and a sentiment from the many options available in the Birthday Puzzle Scenes Stamp. The hard part here is deciding which image you like and where it best fits on the die-cut postage frame.

  • Stamp the images and sentiment onto the postage frame. Some slight masking maybe required to keep the image within the frame borders. Post-it notes work really well in this situation.

  • Once all images are stamped, colour them with your favourite colouring medium. I used alcohol ink.

  • I love to add some blended ink to the background to make the images POP! Pick out ink colours that are similar in tone to the coloured images from the huge collection of LDRS Hybrid Inks. I choose Lipstick Jungle, Olive Branch, Dan-D-Lion, and Bali Blue.

  • This is where the Christmas Puzzle Masking Stencil comes in handy. Layering it over the corners of the small frames on the nested postage panel creates a perfect mask to blend ink onto the creative piece. Using an ink colour that compliments the coloured images lightly blend ink away from the corner of the mask. Repeat for all frames. I find if you are light-handed when blending the ink over the coloured image, it doesn’t affect the saturation of the coloured image noticeably.

  • Take a black pen and draw a fun line around the sentiment.

  • Assemble Card: Adhere postage frame to the card base.

  • Lastly take some coloured gel and glitter pen to fill in to dots in the background.

  •

    Hope you ‘enjoy’ed . Happy papercrafting : )
