Sweet Safari Scene

Hello, all!

Elle here with a fun new clean-and-simple card LDRS Creative, featuring a sweet safari scene with a bit of artistic flair.

One of my favorite things to do is try and find new and innovative ways to use my supplies - especially when it comes to dies. Cherry On Top Build-A-Card die, for example, makes a great shaped cupcake card. With a bit of imagination and creative placement, it helped me create a unique layout for a safari scene.

I started by stamping the giraffe and the savanna tree from the Safari set with the LDRS Creative Hybrid ink in Coffee Bean and colored them in with alcohol markers. I find that stamping in a brown ink brings a lot of warmth to the coloring - and that's definitely the look I was aiming for with my scene. Since Safari set includes matching dies, I was able to die-cut my images with ease.

I trimmed two pieces of cardstock to 4 1/8 by 5 3/8. On one panel, I ink-blended a background using warm yellow, peach and tan colors (tip: to get a straight horizon line, it helps to use a strip of masking paper). On the second panel, I cut out a frosting shape from the middle of the panel using the inner frosting die from Cherry On Top Build-A-Card die. I adhered the blended panel to my card base, then added the die-cut panel with dimensional adhesive. I arranged the giraffe and the tree on the front, and adhered them with dimensional adhesive.

As a final touch, I sprinkled a few enamel dots around the design. I opted for no sentiment on the front, but the card inside is just perfect for adding one of the fun sentiments Safari set comes with.

Thank you so much for today and make sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
