Texture with 3D Embossing
Hello and welcome back to the inspiration blog. Today I am playing with the Perfect Petals 3D embossing folder. It is 6x6 embossing folder, which is nice as it works for portrait or landscape orientation when making an A2 sized card. It can also be used for a 5x5 or 6x6 card. It has beautiful detail and can be used in conjunction with any of the LDRS stamp sets, however, today I wanted to use it as a stand alone background, because I think it is so gorgeous.
I am starting with an A2 white card panel and I wanted to add a hint of color before embossing, so I lightly blended with Peachy Keen and Pink Tutu. I used a very light hand so it is the lightest hint of color.
Next, I embossed the panel using the embossing folder. I first lightly spray the back of the card panel with a mist of water. I feel that helps the paper emboss better. Some people use this method and some don't. I think you can find what works best for you!
I then cut the card panel down by 1/4" on each side. I am mounting the card panel to the white card base using foam to pop it up. Next up, I am using a sentiment from the Sweet Magnolias Stamp Set. This stamp set comes with coordinating dies that also cut out the sentiments, which I LOVE!!!
Here is my dilemma...for the sentiment, I had to play with the cardstock color to determine what I wanted to use. I had pink sparkle embossing powder and I tried it on white, gray, and black cardstock. I felt like it got lost on the white. The black was too harsh and so I went with the gray. What was your choice???
To finish off the card, I mounted the sentiment using foam squares and added embellishments in the center of all the flowers for some sparkle and shine. You can't tell in these pictures, but I also spritzed the background with glimmer spray and there is sparkle in the sentiment embossing, so there's quite a bit of sparkle in this card! If only pictures could pick all that up!
This is definitely a card you could mass produce and add different sentiments for different occasions. I am just in love with the level of detail in the embossing folder!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this card and find time in your day to get crafty! Crafty hugs, LeeAnn
