The Most Colorful Time of the Year

Hi everyone! It's Melissa and I'm here today with a fun Fall themed card. It definitely doesn't feel like Fall yet here in southern California, but I'm more than ready for it to get here.

I knew I wanted to use this sweet little girl from the Winds are Blowing stamp set. Since I didn't have any Fall themed patterned paper, I decided to create my own using the fun Plaid stencil.

For the stenciling, I used blending brushes to randomly blend on Dan-D-Lion, In Your Face Orange, and Scarlet Rose Hybrid Inks. After I had the ink blending done, I removed the stencil. I decided the white cardstock looked a bit stark against the warm colors, so I very lightly blended some Peachy Keen Hybrid Ink over the entire panel. I absolutely love how it turned out.

I stamped the girl image on some white cardstock using Raven Hybrid Ink then colored her using alcohol markers. After the coloring was done, I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set using the Scarlet Rose ink. I die cut the various pieces using some stitched dies to give a bit of added interest and texture to the focal image and sentiment.

Now it was time to put everything together. I adhered the stenciled background panel to a top-folding A2 card base using liquid glue. I adhered the focal square to a scalloped square with liquid glue then adhered it to the card front using foam tape. Finally, I adhered the sentiment offset from the focal image in the lower right corner. I used a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for that part since it was being adhered to two different heights.

I hope you've enjoyed this cute Fall project. Thanks for stopping by!
