Valentines Day

Hi all, Kirstynn here,

Today I want to share with you a fairly simple card that would be fun to have on hand for Valentines Day. This would also be a fun one to create with kids.

To start, I used the new With Affection Collage stamp set. I love sets like this that have a lot of smaller images because you can make beautiful background by just stamping those randomly. Which is exactly what I did here. I used Scarlet Rose, Pink Tutu,  and Lipstick Jungle inks to stamp the background. You can really use any array of colors and any of those tiny stamps that are in this set to make beautiful backgrounds.

Once I had them all stamped out the way that I liked, I used the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Dies to cut the background. I used the biggest rectangle shape to really show off the stamping, but you could use which ever size you like.

I used the same die set to cut out a small scalloped rectangle in heat resistant vellum. I did some gold heat embossing on this small rectangle for the sentiment. I chose velum so that background could really shine through.

At this point it was just a matter of adhering all the pieces together. I added foam tape behind the stamped background to give it a little dimension on a standard A2 notecard. I then used some clear adhesive to glue the vellum on. when doing this, I was strategic in placing the glue behind the letters and the stitching of the die in an attempt to mask the glue as best as I could.

Lastly, I just added some sequins around the sentiment for a little extra sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed this card. It was fun to make and it would be a great one to share with any junior crafters you may have.

Happy Valentines Day!
