You Are Too Kind
Hello everyone! It's Ashley with a simple card using the Love in Bloom layering stamp set. I am in awe of how pretty these flowers are!
Ready for my big confession? This is my first time using layering stamps! I know, I know - what was I thinking? These flowers came together so quickly!
I started by stamping several flowers in different hybrid ink colors using my stamp positioner. For the pink, I used Pink Tutu, Lipstick Jungle, and Scarlet Rose. The purple buds are Mrs. Periwinkle and Plum Crazy, and the leaves are Key Lime Pie and Four Leaf.
I really wanted big yellow flowers, but they require three stamps and I only had two yellow inks. So I used a nifty little hack to get a third yellow! For my first and lightest yellow layer, I stamped the image in Lantern Yellow and then again in Snowy White. Hooray! A third yellow! I stamped the next two layers with Lantern Yellow and Dan-D-Lion.
Look at the beautiful dimension these layered stamps create! I am just in love!
For my background, I softly blended some Bali Blue in a diagonal on a piece of white cardstock. I decided I wanted a bit more interest, so I smooshed some Bali Blue and Lipstick Jungle on an acrylic block and added a bit of water so I could splatter them across the background.
I trimmed 1/8th of an inch off of each side and centered the piece on some black cardstock before arranging my flowers. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock with Watermark Ink and heat set with white embossing powder. Finally, for a bit of sparkle, I added a few clear gems.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! Have a wonderful day!
