Beach Days Postage Collage
Hello and welcome back to the inspiration blog. I am again playing with the Postage Collage product suite, as it is one of my all time favorites. This time I'll be using the Beach Days Layering Stencils set and the Beach Days Postage Collage Stamp set along with the Nested Postage Collage Dies. Let the fun begin!!
I'm starting with an A2 sized, white card panel. I die cut the panel using the postage divided panel die included with the die set. Now we start stenciling. The layering stencils are numbered, making it very easy to know where to start. I use as few colors as possible and layer color to achieve different tones. For example, the sand castle is two colors for the castle itself, Iced Tea & Coffee Bean (only for the very last stencil). You can get darker tones just by adding additional ink with each stencil layer. I did the same thing with the bucket, chair and hammock. They are all one color, just layered ink for darker tones.
You can see here that layer 1 is a light layer using very little pressure on the blending brush. Each layer adds a little more. In total, the ink colors I used are Iced Tea (sand, castle & tree trunk), Coffee Bean (castle scalloped accents), Soft Kisses (swim suit), Lipstick Jungle (swim suit), Key Lime Pie (tree leaves center), Evergreen (tree leaves edges), In Your Face Orange (sea shells), Dan-D-Lion (sea shells), Marina Madness (bucket, chair & hammock), and Little Boy Blue (sky).
To add a little visual interest, I accented features like the dark edging on the leaves and shading on the bucket edges. I also added some sparkle at the end by adding a little glitter to the sea shells, swim suit, hammock and the scalloped edge of the umbrella. I can't resist a little sparkle. I added coffee bean dots to the sand for some extra flair, as well. This is such a simple set to use, but creates an absolutely darling scene.
I added the stamped images to the card panel using Raven ink and now we're ready to assemble. To put it all together, I die cut the stamp edge panel in hot pink to layer under the card panel and adhered to a white, A2 card base using foam strips. I finished off the card with dew drops because a beach card needs a splash of water!
What is your favorite image from the card? I'm in love with that little sand castle! It's so cute!!!! Honestly though it's ALL cute! I hope you find some time today to get crafty!!
