Beautiful Blooms
Hi there! It's Jeannie and I'm back today to share a simple card with you that involves no coloring at all!
I wanted to use some of LDRS Creative's hybrid inks to watercolor with. I chose the following colors: Mrs. Periwinkle, Pink Tutu, Flesh, La La Lavender, Swimming Hole, Lipstick Jungle, Dan-D-Lion.
I smushed them on a glass mat so I could pick up the colors to add to my background. These colors mixed with water offer a very light background and it turned out gorgeous. Surprisingly, I had to be light handed with the Dan-D-Lion color as it very pigmented even when watered down.
I decided for this project to use the Beautiful Bloom set and mainly the large floral image. It is so detailed and I love it, but I just didn't want to color it. It worked perfectly stamped on top of the watercolored background. I noticed this floral image had a bit of a ying yang shape so I stamped an additional one to create a perfect circle.
For the sentiment, I stamped out "You Make Me Smile" and placed in in between the flowers on a little banner. It looked perfect.
I decided for the background to pull out a piece of patterned paper from the Sincerely Yours paper pad. I just needed something simple that didn't distract from the watercolor background.
I really enjoyed how this turned out and I think it looks super elegant. Hope you enjoyed today's card and join me in two weeks, where I share a super fun project from some of the new stamp sets from Creativation.
