Big Beautiful With Colored Embossing Powder
I love simplicity, but there also needs to be a balance. Not too simple that it’s boring, and not too busy that the elements lose their impact! It’s hard to find the right combination. Today’s card features a monochromatic look, but I used colored embossing powder to add texture and visual interest, while still keeping the simple theme.
I started with an A2 white card panel and very simply swiped a swath of Fairie Dust Hybrid Ink in the center. The imperfection of the swipe of color adds texture and visual interest, along with a pop of color.

Next I stamped the Big Word Beautiful stamp in Watermark Embossing Hybrid Ink and heat embossed in a beautiful pearl lilac color.
This adds shine and texture, but keeps the simple tone on tone nature of the card. I die cut the panel using the A2 Stitched Layered Card Topper dies. I then layered the panel with a slim layer of black card stock before mounting on an A2 size card base in a pretty Wisteria color.
To finish the card off, I die cut "inside & out" from the Big Word Beautiful die set. I cut two sets in white and one set in black. I like the dimension of stacking the die cuts. I offset the black lower layer to add a little visual interest and make the die cuts pop. I adhered all of these to the lower corner of the card using liquid glue and finished the card off with some jewel drops.
Simplicity eases my mind in a busy busy world. I would love to hear your thoughts on the design.
