Blooms for days!
Happy December! Once we make it through the Christmas holiday, it's time to start dreaming of Spring and I'm ready!!! This new release from LDRS gives me all the feels!! I have so many card projects floating around in my head for all this new product! And many staple pieces that you'll use for years to come! Let's dive in...
The first card is utilizing one of the new Spotlight Stencils. These stencils are wonderfully made with guidelines for different sized cardstock to assist you in properly lining up or centering the spotlight. They are a huge time saver as you don't have to measure everything out to mask the area, you simply place the cardstock within the guidelines and go. You can also do as I've done here and use it more than once on the same card, while easily aligning the spotlight area for a balanced look. This card was made using the Rectangle Spotlight Stencil. The stencils also come in Square, Circle, and Heart shapes.
I started with the center rectangle and ink blended in Prickly Pear. I then moved to the top rectangle and blended in Key Lime and the bottom rectangle in Olive Branch. Take note of the guidelines on the stencil and the weight of the stencil is perfection!!! Such high quality.
I generally will work on two cards at once (all those ideas floating around). For the second card, I used three ink colors but blended them in the same rectangle. The top of the rectangle was Pink Tutu, the middle was Soft Kisses and the bottom was Lipstick Jungle. Just a little gradual ombre' look but very subtle. These inks blend so nicely and are perfectly pigmented.
Next, I die cut both panels with the Stitched Layered Card Toppers in the A2 size. Both of these cards will be A2 top folding cards. I used the middle sized die and these are my most used dies in my craft room. Definitely a staple set.
Now to add the beautiful floral images. This stamp set is SO GOOD! They also come with matching dies complete with sentiment dies and shadows for the sentiments. LDRS is so good at the details!!
I used the stencil to mask off for the stamping as well. So many uses!! Look at these precious flowers!!! The stamp set is called Flower Doodles and although I didn't use the matching dies for these cards, they can be found here. I stamped the floral images in Raven ink and added no other coloring. I wanted these sweet images to stand out in their simplicity and I love the end result.
The sentiment for this card was also stamped in Raven Ink and the card panel was layered on black for a little pop! I elevated the card panel on black foam and mounted to the white, top folding, A2 card base. To finish it off, I added some pink toned little jewels for a little sparkle.
The green card was also layered on black and as an added pop, I stamped the sentiment in Watermark Ink on black card stock and heat embossed in white. I actually did utilize the dies on this card with the sentiment die. I did not use the shadow layer, however. The sentiment is adhered with foam squares for dimension and the card panel is also adhered with black foam for dimension. I finished it off with some sparkly clear dots and I love the look of the black with these beautiful green tones!!! So GOOD!!
Here is wishing you a wonderful Christmas Holiday!!
