Blue Floral Focal Point
Hello crafty friends, Kirstynn here to share my most recent project using some of the new LDRS products. I really love having a big bold focal point on my cards and that's exactly what I did here.
I started by cutting out my floral pieces and my scalloped square background. To do this I used the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle dies, Large Flower Dies, and the Aspen Leaf Dies. You could do this with any colors but I chose to do a bold blue and then velum aspen leaves.
Once I had them all cut out the way that I wanted them I glued them together. I started by gluing the smaller flower to the larger one. Once I got that done, I really didn't love the way the center was looking and I wanted to add some more dimension. So... I cut another dark blue flower using the bigger die to put on the top making the smaller blue flower sandwiched between the two.
I wanted to make sure that top flower stood out from the bottom flower even though they were lined up and the same color cardstock. To do this, I used my index finger and thumb to gently "roll" the edges of the flower up. This creates a 3D look with the flowers.
I also added some velum leaves using the Aspen Leaf Die set. This just added a some additional detail to that main focal point that I was going for.
I used the Cosmos stamps and dies to create the sentiment. Because I wanted that bold flower, I decided to put that sentiment right over the center of the flower. I added some gems to the center for some last minute detail.
This card is pretty easy to replicate and you could do a log of different colors. Even changing up the background would make a huge difference.
I hope you guys all get some inspiration from this. Thanks for following along.
Happy Crafting!
