Blue Floral Wreath-New Release

Hi all, Kirstynn here,

Today I'm sharing a card I made with the most recent release. If you haven't already seen the most recent release, you can check it out here.  I used the Wildflower Wreath impress-ion plate and the cordinating stencils from the new release along with some of my recent favorite sentiments dies. Let's jump right in.

To begin, I used the press plate to create the outline of my florals in black ink and then used the coordinating stencils to quickly fill in the flowers. I used the Little Boy Blue Ink for the petals and Olive Branch Ink for the leaves. I was able to get so much dimension in the petals by using both of the layers of the stencil pack and also layering up the ink.

I went in first with a light hand. When I got to the second stencil I really tried to saturate the paper. Making sure to get into all of the smaller spaces. Then Filled in teh leaves with green.

I'm a huge fan of stencil because it makes a project look like you spent hours coloring when in reality it only took a few short seconds.

After I had my floral element all done, I moved on to the sentiment. To cut out the sentiment I used the Simply Words dies.  I cut out the shadow in black and the lettering in white. This nestled perfectly in the floral wreath. I then used the Simply Sentiments  stamps to stamp the rest of my sentiment under the die cut.

To finish this card off, I trimmed down my panel to 4 inches by 5.25 inches. then I added an 1/8 inch black matt behind this panel. I'm not sure why, but I always find that a simple matt adds so much to a card.

And that was it for this project. I really enjoyed making this one. There is something so lovely about how this floral wreath frames the sentiment. It really is the star of the show.

I hope you found some inspiration today.

Happy crafting!
