Clean & Simple Valentine card
Hi Everyone, Jen here! I can't believe that we are almost at the end of January already! Love is definitely in the air at the moment as we are all busy creating Valentine's cards for our nearest and dearest. With that in mind, I'm back to share a cute Valentine card with you all.
I decided to keep this project very clean and simple and started off with a smooth white US A2 card base. I used the new Heart Spotlight 6x6 Stencil – LDRS Creative to ink blend a heart using Marina Madness – LDRS Creative hybrid ink. These spotlight stencils have etched lines on them that make it super easy to line up with your card stock.
I wanted to create a bit of depth to the heart so I lightly ink blended over the centre of the heart leaving it fade out to white. Then used a much heavier hand around the edge for added contrast.
Next I took my favourite and most used dies from LRDS the Chloe Alpha Lowercase Die Set – LDRS Creative and cut the X & O from bright red card stock 3 times and layered them together. Then repeated that step to leave me with to sets of each letter. I love the look of stacked die cut letters on project because it adds so much dimension.
I arranged to die cut letters into the centre of the heart in 2 rows and glued them in place with liquid adhesive. The card front was trimmed down by 1/16th of an inch on all sides and added to a bright red cardbase measuring 5 1/2 x 4/1/4 inches. The pop of colour in the background really brings the whole design together.
As a final touch I added a few red clay hearts and that finished the card.
I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and I'll catch you all next time!
