Coloured pencil on kraft
Hello Everyone,
It is Zsofi here today with a clean and simple Valentine's Day card.
I love shaped cards and having dies which do the job instead of me are my thing. The Garden escape Build-a-card die set gives you the die for creating the card base and also a layering one with pretty faux stitching which I adore! I made my card base out of white cardstock and cut a layering piece from kraft.
Then I arranged some of the images and sentiment from the Cloud no 9 stamp set in my stamp positioner and stamped them on the kraft panel using Raven Hybrid ink. I double stamped for a bolder black result.
Then I used my coloured pencils to quickly add colour. I used 2-3 shades of each colour family for the shading, but otherwise I kept it really simple. After I have finished I had to outline the whole image with a black fine line marker as the wax from the coloured pencil made the black lines look dull. With this little trick I could make the image pop off the kraft background! I love the effect!
The image is so pretty on its own, that I didn't need embellishments even. I just added a bit of clear shimmer to the clouds with a shimmer pen and covered the hearts with glossy accents. Then I simply adhered the focal panel on the shaped card base and my card was ready.
I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration and will give it a try to use your pencils on kraft cardstock. Until next time, happy crafting.
Zsofi
