Floral Hugs Card
Hi there, Annie here and today I'm sharing a bright and cheery get well card featuring stamps and dies from recent releases. The Impatiens 6x6 Stamp is a beautiful bold background stamp that can be used with a variety of fun techniques. Today I decided to watercolor the whole image for maximum effect.
I started by trimming watercolor paper to 4" x 5.25". Then I stamped the Impatiens 6x6 Stamp onto the panel with embossing ink, added white embossing powder, and melted it with a heat tool. Once cool, I colored the entire panel with purple, pink, and coral watercolors.
I die cut white and gold cardstock with the Chloe Alpha Lower Case Die Set to spell the word "hugs". After adhering the tiny cutouts from the gold letters on top of the white letters, I added the gold letters to the back of the white letters as a shadow layer. (Tip: Leave the cutouts in both the white and gold letters if possible, add liquid glue on top of the white letters, and then poke the gold cutouts from the gold letters onto the glue for fast and easy transfer.)
Stamp the Get Well Sentiment Stack onto white cardstock with embossing ink, add gold embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Die cut all of the sentiments out at once with the Sentiment Stack Coordinating Die and then die cut gold cardstock to yield the gold banner shadow layer.
Mat the watercolored background panel with gold cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with foam adhesive. Add the letters and sentiment strip to the card front with more foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed this bright and cheery get well card and thanks so much for stopping by today!
