Can you believe Spring is almost here and we are thinking about Graduation already?? It's crazy how fast time flies. I have a couple different graduations from different schools, so thought it would be fun to customize their cards in their school colors! It's easy to do with the On This Special Day stamp set!
This stamp set covers many occasions, but today I'm going to make two cards in two different school colors for gradutation. The card topper is die cut using the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers die set. I used the smallest of the 3 dies offered in the primary school color for each card. I then cut a black layer slightly larger and both will be mounted on an A2 card base in the same primary school color.
Next, I stamped a few of the sentiments from the stamp set using the Watermark Emboss Ink. I embossed all of the stamped sentiments in clear embossing powder for a tone on tone look. The darker cardstock shows the embossed images better than the lighter cardstock in photos. However, both look beautiful in person. The lighter cardstock may be just slightly more subtle.
Next I stamped the Congrats sentiment in Raven Hybrid Ink and heat embossed using clear powder. I did the same with the graduation cap as well, but stamped on white so I could color the tassle in a coordinating color. The only coloring on the whole card!!
All that is left is the assembly! I layered the sentiment strip with black cardstock as well and adhered the graduation cap with foam squares for a little dimension. This would be a great card to mass produce if you have a lot of graduations. It would also be fun to emboss the sentiments with a little sparkle for a girl graduate!! Unfortunately, I don't have any girls graduating.
Happy Spring!!! I hope you find some quality time to get into the craft room and do some soul cleansing paper crafting!
