Hawaiian Vacation Shaker Card

Hi all, Kirstynn here! I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer. Today I wanted to share a fun little shaker card that I came up with using the Hawaiian Vacation Set

I started by stamping that little octopus and colored him purple with some water based markers. Any markers or coloring supplies you have would work here. I also used a white gel pen to give him some extra spots and added detail.

After my little octopus guy was completed, I went to work on my background. I blended some ocean colored blues on the back and gave it a good splash of water on it to give it that water look. I then set that aside and used the A2 Diagonal Stitched Layered Card Toppers to create a frame. To do this I just used a small piece of tape to hold two of them together while running it through my die cut machine.

Next I cut out my acetate to the same size panel as my background. I glued that onto the back of my frame and added the foam tape around the edges. I added all my sequins into the middle of the acetate and aligned the background to the frame.

Next all I needed to do was work on that sentiment. I used black pigment ink and some clear embossing powder to give the sentiment a nice wet look. Then I propped my octopus up on some foam tape and suck him down slightly overlapped.  I added some clear bubble embellishments to the front of the acetate just to add a little more depth to this card.

Lastly, I wanted to add another element of that purple. However, I wanted to make sure the colors matched exactly. So, I used my marker and colored the edge of a panel and layered this behind my shaker element. Then glued the whole thing to a A2 side folding card.

I hope this will inspire you to try out a shaker card yourself. They are one of my favorite cards to make and you can add so many different things to the inside.

All best,

Kirstynn
