Autumnal hugs and kisses
Hello everyone !
Lounon here! I am super excited to share with you my first post for LDRS Creative!
So, here is the card I made featuring the new Potted Poinsettia stamp set. It's a gorgeous set which would be perfect for the holidays, but I thought I would make a more autumnal vibe card first.
That's why I decided to use more fall colors on the flowers. It's one of the great things with floral stamps, they are super versatile and can fit nearly every occasion!
First, I stamped the flower from the Potted Poinsettia 4x6 stamp set with no-line coloring ink. I colored it with my alcohol markers and fussy cut it.
My card is 4.5" x 5 3/4" ( 11.5 cm x 14.5 cm) so I took a 9" x 5 3/4" (23 cm x 14.5 cm) piece of double sided brown pearlescent cardstock and I folded it in two. I also cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (11 cm x 14 cm) rectangle into kraft cardstock.
I matted and layered them and attached the kraft panel on the brown base with low tack tape. I placed my Potted Poinsettia Coordinating Die on top of them and die cut it. It's really easier to cut the two cardstocks at once as they will be perfectly and effortlessly aligned.
After that, I used the Background Stitched Slimline Dies II on my kraft panel. You will love this set ! I really like to add stitched patterns on my cards and this set is perfect for that. You can mix and match the four patterns, use them on slimline or more regular-sized cards as I did for mine today. For this project, I decided to cut one of the patterns 6 times.
I glued my kraft panel onto my card base.
Then, for the final touch, I decided to add strips of purple ribbon on my card. For the one on the bottom I decided to emboss it. I stamped one of the sentiment of the Garden's Edge Slimline Stamp Set on it with my Watermark Emboss Pad and embossed it with copper powder. I glued the ribbons on my card.
Finally, I glued my flower pot with foam pads using the front panel as guide.
That's it for today !
May the craft be with you !
Beautiful card Lounon. Love the design and colors!
