Joyeux Noel!
Hey everyone!
Stephanie here with you for LDRS Creative today and so happy to share one of my first Christmas projects this year! Woohoo! Talk about being early. I mixed in some older collections, like the Snow Deer To Me stamp set, with the Modern Geometric A2 Coverplates from the newest Christmas one, so come along for the ride!
I have to confess, the concept of this card has been on my mind since I put my hands on the new Modern Geometric A2 Coverplates. I simply ADORE that you can build a background with dimension and elegance in no time. Give me all the coverplates in the world and I'd be a Happy Crafter for life!
I first stamped the images on a piece of coloring cardstock and sentiment on kraft paper with Raven hybrid ink, because a true black is always my go-to! I colored the images from Snow Deer To Me and diecut the snow globe, then let it aside while I built the rest of the card. The sentiment was taken from the Peace And Joy stamp set, that is also part of the new Christmas collection, and diecut with the smallest of the Folded Ribbon Banner die.
Now for the big part! The background was done very, very, very easily by diecutting each Modern Geometric A2 Coverplate once with a different color of cardstock:
Modern Geometric A2 Coverplate I in kraft,
Modern Geometric A2 Coverplate II in aqua and
Modern Geometric A2 Coverplate III in red.
I then sprayed each panel with adhesive and adhered them to my basic A2 white cardbase, lining everything carefully. Finally, I added the other elements set aside with foam adhesive, a few sequins here and there, and that was it!
I hope you liked the idea of mixing older sets with new ones and that you will try it, too!
Onto the next Holiday project, now!
