Summer Floral Frame
Hey everyone! Kassi here with some summer inspiration! The new products that were released this month make creating summer projects a breeze!
I was really inspired by the hibiscus in the new Heatwave set... it made me think of Hawaiian leis, and I wanted to turn that into a frame for my sentiment...
It's super easy to create your own floral arrangements.. You just need the right tools..
To start out, you'll need to create some masks... Simply stamp your flower several times onto the matte side of the Stamping Mask Paper, and fussy cut out. You want to cut JUST inside the lines to avoid any halos.
Once cut, you can remove the mask from the backing paper, and you are ready to go.
These masks are nice and sturdy, and can be reused! I like to stick mine to the back of the clear carrier sheet my the stamps come on so they will be ready to use next time I pull out that set. These are the secret to one layered custom scenes and floral arrangements!!!
Start building your floral frame... after you have stamped an image, cover it with a mask to stamp the flowers around it.. You can move the masks around as needed...
If you want to see more details on how I design a floral frame, be sure to check out my blog for more details on that!
After all my stamping was done, I traced the edge of the circle die from Happy Days using an alcohol ink SAFE pen, being sure to skip over any part that is covered by flowers. I love that the dies can be used in so many different ways!
After that, I colored it... and added the sentiment.
I also added in some dots with a sparkly gel pen for a little extra pop.
To finish the card, I wanted to add a border along the bottom part... I used the tiny background stamp from the new Lemonade set to create my own polka dotted paper. The Bali Blue ink was a little too bright to match my card, so I used the second generation stamp (stamping it off onto a scrap paper first, then stamping it on my paper). It toned down the color perfectly!
A few quick lines drawn in with my sparkle pen to cover up any slight misalignments, and it's good to go!
